Frequently Asked Questions
On this page you’ll find the answers to some of the questions we’re frequently asked about our carpet, floor and upholstery cleaning services.
Do all carpet cleaning companies use the same method of cleaning?
No. Some companies use a low moisture cleaning process and others use hot water extraction (HWE).
While we’re not wedded to any particular method or process, we always follow the science and results and believe that it is clear that HWE achieves the best results on most carpets – particularly residential carpets. It is important that when carrying out the HWE process, that the equipment is of sufficient power to extract moisture and chemical residues.
How often should you have your carpets, rugs and upholstery cleaned?
The major carpet manufacturers state that most carpets benefit from professional cleaning every 12 months. If carpets are left too long between professional cleaning appointments, then you risk causing permanent damage due to embedded grit and soils.
If you have any current stains that you cannot remove yourself, then it is best to get them professionally treated as soon as possible.
How long will it take for my carpets and upholstery to fully dry?
Carpet and upholstery drying times vary depending on ventilation, the machine used and the thoroughness of the cleaning operative.
With our HWE cleaning process, most domestic carpets will dry in approx 2-3 hours and upholstery can take an hour or so longer depending on the condition of the furniture.
Do you move furniture?
Yes, we can move and replace furniture and when it is safe to do so.
We simply ask that you remove any smaller items from the floor before we arrive and we’ll take care of the rest. We’re also able to clean around heavy items if you’d prefer.
How quickly can I book an appointment?
Waiting times vary depending on the time of year but we will always try and fit you in as quickly as possible. If you require an emergency appointment we recommend you call us on 07887 842821.
Will your carpets soil quickly after the cleaning process?
No. This is a common misconception. Carpets only soil quickly if they have chemical residues left behind in the fibres. Our process removes all solutions from the carpet and doesn’t leave any residue or stickiness in the fibres.
